The corpse of Nevith Condés Jaramillo was found on the morning of August 24, 2019 in Tejupilco, State of Mexico. He died of four bullet wounds.

Condés Jaramillo was the creator of the Facebook page El Observatorio del Sur. In June, he was one of the first to report on the downing of a helicopter in Sultepec. He had been receiving threats over several months. He asked for, but did not receive, help from Article 19 and the Mechanism for Protection of Journalists; he had not completed the application process for the latter.
